TITLE: Member Services Representative

REPORTS TO: Lead Member Services Representative

PURPOSE: While efficiently performing a variety of banking services, deliver service that defines a great member experience. Also, support the overall mission of the credit union by referring members to the Financial Service Representatives and other business partners. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrate accountability for individual performance and sales goals.

  2. Perform various member tasks including transactions, research, etc. accurately and timely.

  3. Adhere to and manage individual negotiable items and cash supply limits.

  4. Be accountable for individual over/short performance.

  5. Perform various operational tasks as assigned by department supervisor.

  6. Actively participate in training and coaching opportunities.

  7. Identify risks associated with regulatory compliance and bank secrecy act.

  8. Adhere to credit union policies, procedures, and security measures.

  9. Ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.

  10. Support credit union community involvement initiatives and participate in community activities.

  11. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  1. Ability to actively listen and communicate effectively.

  2. Ability to take responsibility for personal performance and development.

  3. Ability to develop member relationships in order to effectively cross-sell products or services.

  4. Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of 6 months of cash handling experience in a sales environment preferred.

  2. Minimum requirement of High School diploma or equivalent. College education and/or commensurate experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed largely in an office environment with minimal chance for personal injury. Regular contact with clients and co-workers. Regular mental and visual concentration for computer usage is required. Regular use of telephone. Frequent use of keyboard for approximately 4 or more hours per day; frequent repetitive fingering and grasping of currency. Requires ability to receive and provide detailed information through verbal communication. Requires near, mid-range, and far vision; field of vision. Will alternate sitting, standing, and walking throughout work shift. Bend, stoop, turn, lift and carry up to 50 pounds of currency, documents, or office supplies. Occasional exposure to noise associated with drive-up equipment. Occasional exposure to significant work pace. Work is performed generally during regular business hours with occasional overtime.
